Dr. Cantu and Staff

We believe each individual has unique characteristics, desires and functional needs. Our office is dedicated to understanding those properties and finding solutions that meet the patient's needs. Our orthodontic treatment focuses first on proper functioning of the masticating structures (TMJ, muscles, etc.), good facial balance (profile) and lastly, the proper arrangement of the occlusion. We will work very hard with our patients to satisfy these requirements. At the end of treatment, we hope we have developed a strong friendship with our patient and they leave us with a beautiful smile.

	Beatrice-Orthodontic Assistant Beatrice has been with the Central Texas Orthodontic Team since March 2008. She started in general dentistry in 1995 and went into the orthodontic field in 1999. If you were to ask her what she enjoys most about the field her answer would be “simply the patients.” Watching not only the changes with their teeth but also seeing the younger patients mature and getting to know their families.
	Christen-Treatment Coordinator Christen joined the Central Texas Orthodontic Team in September 2008, as the Treatment Coordinator. She has worked in all areas of the orthodontic field and brings more than six years of experience to our office. She and her husband, Bryan, enjoy live music, cooking, camping and playing with their labs, Nina, Miles, and Billie.
	Gerri-Office Manager Gerri started working in the dental field in 1984, then moved to the orthodontic field in 1989. She joined the Central Texas Orthodontic Team in March of 2008. Her and her husband, Edward, have two biological children, Brandon and Mary. They have a ministry were they have fostered many young people, so they have a lot of children! They also run a boxing gym, where they have worked with over 350 children, teens and adults. They love seeing the positive change in the young peoples lives that they have been blessed to be a part of. Gerri said, “It’s been very rewarding working with such a great orthodontic team, they truly care for each patient and want them to have the best experience they can have during their treatment with us.”
	Jennifer-Orthodontic Assistant Jennifer was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She has been with the Central Texas Orthodontic Team since October of 2007. She loves meeting new patients, developing relationships with them and watching their smile change. While not at work she likes spending time with her family and friends. Jennifer loves anything outdoors and quiet evenings at home. She hopes to make a difference in people’s lives and wants to have a big family.
	Mary-Laboratory Technician Mary has been working in the orthodontic field since 1992, and joined the Central Texas Orthodontic team in 2001. Mary loves to make retainers and appliances with personal flair, which brings a smile to her patients. Swimming and spending time with her son, daughter and husband, Rob, are her favorite pastimes.
	Monica- Clinical Coordinator Our clinical coordinator joined the Central Texas Orthodontic Team in 2001. Monica has an associates degree in human services. She is proficient in American Sign Language(ASL) and Spanish. When not in the office, Monica likes to volunteer her time as an interpreter for the deaf community, bike riding and enjoying life with her husband, Andrew and their three dogs.
	Ingrid - Scheduling Coordinator Ingrid was born and raised in San Antonio, and recently moved to Austin at the beginning of 2009. She has her Associates Degree in the Arts, as well as her MA, CNA, and CLT. Ingrid brings to the office a warm friendly smile, and several years experience with medical records and patient relations. Ingrid recently married the love of her life, Lane, and is currently living happily ever after with their dog, Buddy. When not in the office, Ingrid likes to travel, camp, fish, and embark on new and exciting adventures.
