Invisalign: Your Option for Invisible Braces

Invisible Braces

There are many adults who aren’t happy with their smile because their teeth aren’t as straight as they want them to be. Having visible braces on your teeth as an adult can be very embarrassing and uncomfortable. Fortunately, Invisalign® aligners can help you get the straight teeth you want without all of the pain that comes with conventional braces. The following guide walks you through three common misconceptions about invisible braces that you should know.

The Aligners Are Held in Place by Small Brackets

Many people are fearful to get the aligners because they think that they can come out of their mouth when they talk or even yawn. This isn’t possible because small clear brackets are attached to your teeth that the invisible braces attach to so that they stay secure in your mouth. This ensures you can laugh, sing, talk, and even cough without having to worry about your aligners coming out of your mouth.

You Don’t Eat with the Aligners in Your Mouth

Some people assume that they will have to eat soft foods once they get the invisible braces, but that isn’t the case. You pop the aligners off of the brackets and place them in a carrying case before you start eating. You don’t want to eat with the aligners in because it could cause damage to them or your gums. Once you finish eating, you simply brush your teeth and put the aligners back in place. It’s a very simple process overall.

The Aligners Aren’t Noticeable to Everyone Else

It’s common for people to think that the aligners are very shiny and thus very noticeable to other people around them. This isn’t the case at all. Once the aligners are put on your teeth, they look just like your natural teeth. The clear design allows the shade of your teeth to show through the aligners so that they aren’t obvious to others. They truly are invisible braces.

Visit Central Texas Orthodontics to find out if Invisalign® is right for you. You can discuss the options that are available, how they work to align your teeth and the overall cost for the aligners. The aligners do take some time to adjust the positioning of your teeth, but when your smile is perfectly straight it will make you feel far more confident and cost a fraction of what it would have cost if you would have gotten braces. We are conveniently located in Austin, TX, and we offer many options for straightening your teeth. Contact us to schedule your consultation today to find out which is right for you!
